Can't install on Windows 11

NHS posted this 19 January 2025

I have been using Time-Lapse Tool on Windows-10 for many years. I just purchased a new Windows-11 laptop, but have been unable to install Time-Lapse Tool on that machine. This new computer hasn't been customized in any significant way. The Time-Lapse Tool install seems to be failing early in the process. I get the error message:

The older version of Time-Lapse Tool cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.

I don't have an older version of Time-Lapse Tool on this computer, and the version I'm attempting to install was just downloaded from the website.

Has anyone else experienced this?

My original post failed to capture all of the steps leading up to the error message I cited. Here's some additional detail:

The first thing that goes wrong when I try to install Time-Lapse Tool is that I get an error saying:

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable."

This error dialog window shows me a path to a folder in my AppData\Local\Temp directory. That folder exists, and contains a file named TimeLapseTool.msi.

If I browse to this MSI file (via the Browse button in the error message dialog window", I get a subsequent error saying "This file in not a valid installation package from the product Time-Lapse Tool."

At this point, the only option I have left is to cancel. When I cancel out of that error message, then I get the final error stating:

"The older version of Time-Lapse Tool cannot be removed."

Thanks in advance for any insights or suggestions you may have!
