Hi, I just updated to 2.4.6271 and everything is working fine. I can change aspect ratios again and it gives the correct output resolution also.

Thank you very much for responding so quickly.

No problem at all. I have sent you the project file with some original images also that I used for that project.

The images are 4144 x 2822 resolution off the camera.

I want to export at 1920 x 1080 but it won't let me change to widescreen 16:9

The aspect ratio it gives me is 1920 x 1280.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Could you save and email a sample project file with a failed drop down to support, please?

Hi, I had removed 2.4 and reinstalled 2.3 and it was working correctly.

When I updated to 2.4 again I have the same problem. The drop down is not working.

I removed it and reinstalled a fresh download and re activated it and the problem persists.

Here is a video.

Aspect Ratio selection

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_Pvuo8wD5s

As you can see it selects the aspect ratio from the original image. 5496 x 3672 pixels

However I cannot change the aspect ratio and the output aspect ratio is always the same.

In 2.3 I could change the aspect ratio.

Is there something else I need to do to change aspect ratio with these images?

Thanks again.

Hi thanks for your response.

Yes that makes sense.

I see now that I was applying the aspect ratio change the wrong way (requiring a restart) It achieved what I wanted but I see now there was an easier way with 2.3.

Regarding 2.4 I can see that it does assign the aspect ratio automatically. I also see the option to change it in the Project settings but this does not do anything. Regardless of which setting I select the aspect ratio does not change. I will make a video and post a link here shortly.

Hi,

Looks like you applied this feature in an incorrect way. Aspect ratio is a part of the project settings. You can change the aspect ratio anytime, this does not require the software restart. Project aspect ratio change is applied immediately. The software serializes the aspect ratio into the project file with "tlt" extension. So after project loading, you continue with the aspect ratio you selected.

The previous version "fixed" aspect ratio of any new project you created. The software took the selected ratio from the program setting and applied it right after the new project creation.

Version 2.4 assigns an aspect ratio to a newly created project from a first added image.

Does it make sense?

Hi and thanks for the update.

I have been using version 2.3 for astronomy related videos. As my cameras have customisable resolutions I often try each project at different output settings. Widescreen 16:9, TV 4:3, 16:10 etc.

Previously this option was in settings and worked flawlessly after restarting the program.

With 2.4 I see this is now in project settings but it does not save the setting. It will not save the new output format.

For some of my footage the 16:9 setting is unsuitable as it crops the top and bottom of the original images.

Is this a bug or have I missed something in the new version?

Thanks.
